Navana Property Group is a people-focussed property and place services company offering property development, property experience consultancy and property finance and investment advice.

Navana were appointed to deliver estate management services on one of Berkeley Homes’ flagship regeneration projects – Woodberry Down in the London Borough of Hackney.

Woodberry Down is one of the largest single-site estate regeneration projects in Europe and among Berkeley Homes’ most vibrant high-profile schemes.

The Challenge

When Navana approached The Clean Space the inhouse cleaning programme they had inherited was in distress and Navana needed a partner to stabilise this key contract. There were numerous complaints from residents and the cleaners themselves were also unhappy – a sustained lack of management and support had led standards to be much lower than was expected by the highly affluent residents who called this site home.

With a lack of governance over the cleaning department, a lack of compliance and poor standards, Navana needed a new partner they could trust to put things right. Navana also needed a company who had solid experience of managing sensitive TUPE processes as well as the cleaning itself. With several VIPs in residence, they urgently needed to bring standards up to meet the residents’ high expectations and ensure a premium service would be consistently delivered
moving forward.

Navana were looking for a long-term strategic partner as they grew this site and others.

The Clean Space stepped in at a critical time for Navana. They needed immediate support to cover several absent cleaners and The Clean Space provided a complete new cleaning team with less than a two-day turnaround. Speed and flexibility was critical from the outset of our relationship.

While the short term needs were taken care of, we also worked to totally redevelop their cleaning specification and compliance standards. This included installing biometric time and attendance machines, removing the consistent underperformers and retraining the remaining team in line with The Clean Space’s practices and standards.

We implemented Total Environment Cleaning
at the Woodberry Down site – a holistic cleaning approach which uses probiotics on
surfaces and in the air to promote and maintain healthier communal spaces for their residents. This increased care and attention to detail, particularly during the pandemic has been key to helping residents feel more reassured and safer in their homes. We continue to support this effort by making ourselves more present on-site and
even plan to attend the next shareholders AGM.

Simeon, the manager of our school site, always manages to work with the demands of the school, especially when it comes to last minute requests.   I work for a large housing association and we took on The Clean Space to be the main cleaning provider for our offices. The transition to Clean Space was very smooth during a difficult and trying time as the support was top tier. The cleaning manager, operations manager and others were on hand to deal with every bump in the road and we have since had a very good cleaning service.
