The Clean Space

AnaLast month we welcomed Ana Magalhaes to our growing customer management team. Ana will be working in London on several important customer accounts and brings more than 15 years’ experience of cleaning management.

Born in Portugal, Ana is of course bi-lingual and now lives in East London with her partner, two children (aged 21 and 10), and her pet cat and dog. Ana chose to join The Clean Space because of the team, its caring culture and because our senior Executive team were so ‘open and friendly’. Working with Richard, our Ops Director (who is internally dubbed our Ops ‘Duracell bunny’), Ana will be an integral part of our central management team.

Ana’s Experience

IOSH qualified in management and BISCs licenced, Ana also has her Prince2 Foundation & Practitioner qualifications. With a diverse cleaning and housekeeping management background, in both corporate and hotel environments, Ana brings with her a wealth of insights and ideas. Working as a staff trainer and responsible for setting up training management systems in past roles, we know she will be a huge help in developing our teams too. Prior to working in facilities management, Ana worked in several general management roles in the finance sector.

Moving forward, in her role as Contract Manager, Ana will be responsible for supporting her customers and managing cleaning teams. Her overall aim is to help clients achieve their cleaning and facilities KPIs and reduce the time managing cleaning teams day-to-day.

We always recruit on culture first and like the rest of the team at The Clean Space, Ana shares our belief that if you genuinely care about people and look after them, they will do the very best job for our customers in turn.

Outside of her work, Ana can most likely be found spending quality time with family and friends. Whenever possible, she travels home to Portugal to see her family there.

What Ana looks for in a good GREAT cleaner

The ideal cleaner is an employee that is proud of their work. You need to like what you do. They also need to understand the importance of their role. They are one of the most important people in any building because without their services, the building could not operate safely.

Super bright and sharp, Ana is unafraid to manage poor performance or upskill her team on improved methods when necessary. She will be a strong, empathetic manager (and leader) for her cleaning teams.

When we first interviewed Ana – her clear planning, organisation and evaluation skills were something we valued highly. We cannot wait to put them into action.
